The city must get involved with the needs of our students! Educators can achieve greatness but they can't be expected to lift neighborhoods out of poverty all on their own. The city needs to support our teachers/schools by ensuring access to healthy food, healthcare and other necessary amenities are in existence for all of our neighborhoods. Educators are doing their best every day but when students are coming to school hungry, having a hard time seeing the screen or missing school because they are sick, it makes their jobs even more difficult. If we expect our students to graduate college and career ready, we must help ensure access to services is equitable for all neighborhoods. If the city supported the SAISD and surrounding district mission to have an excellent school in every neighborhood, our timeline could be expedited!
